Dr. Patty Garcia is the daughter of Mexican immigrants. Organizer. Strategist. Coalition Builder.
When institutions failed, Patty stepped in. She has challenged abusive enforcement practices, pushed federal agencies to change course, and helped bring funding and services directly into communities under pressure. While others offer talking points, Patty has delivered solutions rooted in lived experience—working across lines, confronting power when necessary, and producing results that people can actually feel in their daily lives. That’s the kind of leadership she’ll bring to Congress.
“A leader shaped by the people doing the work—not by political convenience or Washington talking points.”
Patty has built coalitions by doing the work alongside the people most affected by broken systems. That has meant standing with immigrant families facing detention and deportation, helping tenants and homeowners navigate rising costs and displacement, and working with labor and community partners to secure resources for neighborhoods that have been locked out for too long. Her leadership has focused on turning real needs into real outcomes—protecting family stability, keeping people housed, and making government respond to the people it’s supposed to serve.
